After School Program
The Edgewood Campus School after school program is designed to meet the needs of busy families and working parents, as well as students who carpool with Edgewood High School students, which dismisses at a later time than the Campus School. It is open to students in kindergarten through grade 8.
Campus School faculty members staff the after school program with support from Edgewood College students through their work study program. This program is designed as a drop-in. Parents do not have to commit or reserve days and times that their children will be in the after school program. Each family pays a small registration fee to enroll their children in the program, and then they are billed at the end of each month for actual hours used.
Students in kindergarten through grade 4 gather in the after school room with all of their outdoor clothing and gear. They sign in, use the restroom, have an after school snack, and then go outside for play. Students who have homework come in after play and go to a supervised study area where they can complete their assignments, read, and prepare for the next day. Once homework is done the student can return to outdoor play, join in activities in the after school room, or go to the computer lab. Parents must come into the building to sign their child(ren) out of after school.
Students in grades 5-8 come to the campus school building for after school. At 2:45 p.m. all students sign in and have a snack. Once snack is finished, older students have an option to go outside or to stay in to work on homework. Ipads are only available later in the program time and after homework is completed. The students can leave the after school program for parent approved extracurricular activities and enrichment courses. Parents are not billed for time spent in other ECS programs. Parents phone the after school room to have their older children dismissed. These students may sign out and meet their parents at the car.
After School Program Hours
Monday - Friday: 2:45-5:30 p.m.
The after school program is not in session on days before the start of a break or vacation and on monthly professional development days. Other dates the program is not available, though few in number, are determined by the administration.

“The after school program at Edgewood Campus School has provided us with high quality, convenient, and affordable care for our daughter. She has participated in the after school program from 4K through 2nd grade and has enjoyed the extra playtime with friends, doing crafts with the staff, and even getting homework help! We are grateful to have this wonderful after school option available to us."
Primary school parents B.T. and Janet Thomas
”We love after school. We get to play with lots of stuff, and we get to use the computers. Cheez-Its and goldfish are the best snacks! The teachers are nice and they help us with our homework.”
Primary school students Blake and Chace Nelson
”After school for the young students is a time for fun, friends, and play. After having a snack and getting some fresh air, students who have homework have a quiet place to work with staff assistance. It is a delight to watch these children in multi-age activities. All of the after schoolers are great friends!”
After school staff members: Margaret Nkemnji, guidance counselor and Diana Albrecht, kindergarten teacher
